You are now able to utilise an LSI Logic Ultra320 PCIe Card with OSX 10.4 providing you have updated to 10.4.11. System Profiler displays the device as two items - a pci to pci bridge and a scsi card. This card can be purchased much more easily, and a hell of a lot cheaper (around £120), than the ATTO branded card, either as the LSI branded model or as a HP branded version (which is actually just the LSI card with a different part number). Ideal for use with a backup drive or for those that utilise scsi scanners and have been unable to find a cheaper pcie card than the ATTO. The HP model is the SC11XE and the LSI model is LSI20320IE.

Both are identical and come with one 68pin VHDCI external connector and one 68pin HD internal connector. Hopefully this will save someone the 2 month searching and trial and error I incurred on behalf of a customer, whilst trying to sort out a backup to tape solution whilst being unable to get hold of the ATTO card.
